Kukirin G4 Max Electric Scooter
Key Features of the Kugoo Kukirin G4 Max
The Kukirin G4 Max comes equipped with several standout features that cater to the needs of urban commuters and off-road riders alike. Its dual 1600W motors deliver smooth acceleration and an ESG-tested max speed of 40 mph (the scooter is rated for speeds of up to 53 mph).
A 60V 35.2Ah battery will give riders up to 59 miles of range, Kugoo claims. (We have not tested this yet, but you’ll see our review soon.) The battery is also removable, which means you can charge it without the scooter and even swap it out for twice the range if you have a spare.

The Kukurin G4 Max has been designed with optimal safety in mind. It features eight bright LED headlights, tail lights, and ambient lighting for improved visibility during night rides, and a large, user-friendly digital display that’s easy to read in the dark or in bright sunlight.
Our First Ride + Top Speed Test
Performance and Speed: What to Expect
When it comes to performance, the Kukirin G4 Max is a thrilling ride for enthusiasts while still being safe for daily commutes. The scooter features three speed modes, enabling you to choose your preferred riding style, with max speeds of 23, 43, and 53 miles per hour.
On our test ride the scooter hit a top speed of 40 mph with a 235-lb rider.

The dual hydraulic suspension system in the G4 Max contributes significantly to the ride, absorbing shocks from potholes and soaking up bumps on the trail.
This performance-oriented design makes this scooter suitable for various riding conditions, from city streets to less maintained paths.
In addition to the suspension, the Kukirin G4 Max uses robust 12-inch off-road tires and four-piston NUTT hydraulic brakes for precise, responsive stopping power that lets you brake with confidence in any situation, whether you’re stopping for pedestrians or unexpected obstacles.

Design and Build: A Closer Look
The Kugoo Kukirin G4 Max strikes a balance between aesthetics and functionality. It’s got the rugged-looking dual stem found on scooters like the Kaabo Wolf King GTR and Inmotion RS, a design that gives electric scooters much more stability at higher speeds.

In the cockpit, ergonomic grips sit next to simple controls on the left with physical buttons for power, single or dual motor operation, turn signals, horn, and lights. On the right is a thumb throttle, our favorite kind of accelerator for faster scooters like this one.
One notable feature of the Kukirin G4 Max: over 8″ of ground clearance for confident off-road riding without fear of bottoming out.
Additionally, the deck is a massive 25″x11.8″, which makes it two inches longer than the biggest scooter in our database, the Dualtron Storm Limited.

Battery Life and Charging Efficiency
Another critical feature of the Kukirin G4 Max is its impressive battery. The Kukirin G4 Max has a pretty massive 2112 Wh battery, allowing for extended rides without the worry of running out of power. Additionally, dual ports allow for simultaneous charging with two 67.2V/5A chargers, cutting charging time in half.
We typically get about 60% of manufacturer range estimates in our tests, and it’s worth keeping in mind that manufacturer estimates are based on ideal conditions and low rider weight.

While the Kukirin G4 Max is rated for riders up to 330 lbs, a heavier load will decrease the scooter’s range. But dual charging means you have the option of going from empty to full in only 3-4 hours, and a removable battery expands your options even more for long range rides.
Pricing and Availability
The Kugoo Kukirin G4 Max is available now for only $2,399 + and additional $100 off with our coupon. That’s $1,400 off its full price of $3,600 and a huge discount for a scooter that competes with big, dual-motor, off-road ready beasts like the Kaabo Wolf King GT and Teewing Mars XTR. You won’t find either of those scooters for less than $3,000, but the Kukirin has very similar specs, if a slightly lower top speed.
While we haven’t fully tested the Kukirin G4 Max yet, it has all the makings of an excellent performance scooter both on and off-road. It could be both a great long-range commuter and a serious weekend sports scooter in one, and there aren’t many scooters you can say that about.
At this price, it’s definitely worth the money. But if you want to wait for our full testing, stay tuned: we’ll have more real-world numbers soon….
