The Dual Motor EMOVE Cruiser – The V2 Goes All Wheel Drive

The EMOVE Cruiser series has been around since 2019, and we’ve tested them all here at ESG. The original Cruisers were well-rounded e-scooters known for their range per dollar value. However, the new Cruiser V2 All Wheel Drive is a different beast, offering even more than just hill-crushing capabilities.

The 60-Volt dual motor EMOVE Cruiser V2 doubles the legendary EMOVE Cruiser’s power to 2000 Watts between the 25A sinewave controllers and two 1000W motors. And with increased power comes increased responsibility, so the Cruiser V2 AWD also features upgraded two-piston hydraulic brakes.

The Cruiser V2 comes with more power, stronger brakes, split rims with bigger self-healing tires, upgraded suspension, a new display, more color options, brighter headlights, taller adjustable handlebars, an upgraded folding mechanism, and an IPX66 waterproof rating.

For a detailed breakdown of all the upgrades from the Cruiser S to the Cruiser V2, check out our previous review of the single motor EMOVE Cruiser V2. In this review we aim to see how the dual motors impact performance compared to the single motor version and whether it’s worth the $1995 price tag, which is $500 more than the single motor version.

Who Is This Scooter For?

Voro Motors, maker of the EMOVE Cruiser, has designed the scooter so that anyone can ride it, and it will actually fit nearly any rider, from 5 foot zero to 7 feet, with handlebars that extend up to 48 inches and a deck that comfortably accommodates a wide stance with the biggest shoe sizes.

EMOVE Cruiser V2 AWD: Performance

Top Speed

post-image-1

The main attraction of the all wheel drive version of the EMOVE Cruiser V2 is its dual thousand Watt motors and 60-Volt 30Ah battery. This setup promises faster acceleration, strong hill climbing, and more control.

The dual motor EMOVE Cruiser hit an official ESG-tested top speed of 41.7 miles per hour. That’s almost 10 miles per hour faster than the single motor EMOVE Cruiser V2.

Acceleration

The acceleration is also impressive. The scooter hit zero to 10 mph in just 1.5 seconds, zero to 20 mph in 4.09 seconds, and zero to 30 in 9.46 seconds.

While the single motor EMOVE Cruiser V2 already has a fast acceleration profile, hitting 15 mph in 3.9 seconds, the dual motor version demonstrates an even punchier throttle response, with a zero to 15 mph time of just 2.47 seconds.

Braking

As we noted up top, the dual motor EMOVE Cruiser V2 ups the safety factor by introducing two piston full hydraulic brakes, while the single motor Cruiser V2 uses the same semi-hydraulic brakes as earlier versions, which work perfectly well for the lower speeds of a single motor scooter.

When it comes to dual motor scooters that hit speeds of 40+ miles per hour, we like to see full hydraulic brakes for maximum control and stopping power, so we’re really happy to see the upgrade to full hydraulic discs here.

Ride Quality

The Cruiser V2 AWD has the same great ride quality as the single motor Cruiser V2, with upgraded suspension, adjustable handlebars that are the highest we’ve ever tested, with a maximum height of 48 inches, so the scooter truly can be ridden comfortably by just about anyone of any height. However, bear in mind that the Cruiser V2 does have a weight limit of 240 pounds.

The Cruiser V2 has an improved, locking folding mechanism that ensures extra stability at high speeds. I didn’t feel any speed wobble at all on my ride, and the stem stays tightly locked into place.

EMOVE Cruiser V2 AWD: Design, Build & Reliability

The Cruiser V2 passes my least favorite test: the drop test. I extended the handlebars all the way, let go from a full standing position and let the scooter hit the ground. Aside from some scuffs on the handlebar end, there was no damage to the Cruiser at all.

We give the EMOVE Cruiser V2 a high reliability score: 8.6 points out of 10 for its battery quality, high water resistance, 2-year warranty, tubeless tires, split rims for easy tire changes & more. The lack of a UL rating does pull its score down slightly.

The main con of this scooter is its heavy, 90-pound weight, which means it isn’t portable.

EMOVE Cruiser V2 AWD: Is It Worth It? Our Verdict

Yes, anyone seeking an extremely comfortable ride with extra power, for a budget of under $2,000, should definitely consider the dual motor EMOVE Cruiser V2 AWD. With its wide deck, tall handlebars, smooth, 25A dual sinewave controllers, and extra-powerful 1000W motors, it can easily become a daily driver for years to come.
