Segway Ninebot F3 First Impressions: A Smart, Speedy, and Comfortable Electric Scooter

Having test-ridden more than 160 electric scooters over the years, I’ve developed a sort of radar for which ones are just hype and which ones are going to change the game. After hopping on the new Segway Ninebot F3 for the first time, I’ve got to say—it feels like we’re looking at one of 2025’s top commuter scooters.
I’ve only had a short ride so far, but even from those first few blocks, you can tell this thing was built with care and a clear purpose.

Right Away, the Ride Feels Dialed In
The very first thing that stood out? How smooth the ride feels.
Segway nailed the suspension setup here—front hydraulic and rear elastomer. I hit a few rough patches of pavement and it just floated right over them. It’s not the over-the-top bounce you get with some high-end off-roaders, but a really nice, practical level of comfort that makes sense for city streets.
Pair that with 10-inch self-healing tires, and you’ve got a scooter that immediately inspires confidence. No harsh jolts, no rattling, just a clean, cushioned glide. I actually found myself riding a little faster than usual without even thinking about it, just because it felt so stable.

Power That’s Actually Useful
On paper, the F3 tops out at 20 mph with a 1000W motor, and while that might not sound wild compared to the more extreme models I’ve tested, in the real world—it’s plenty. This thing pulls cleanly off the line, and there’s a surprising amount of torque when you need to tackle a hill or accelerate past a slow-moving bike.
The range also looks promising: up to 44 miles in Eco Mode, or about 25 miles at top speed. I haven’t fully tested that yet, but even at a glance, the battery performance seems more than capable of handling a full commute plus errands without needing a mid-day charge.
The Details Feel Thoughtful
There’s a comfort to the build that you feel as soon as you step on it. The deck is wide—over 7 inches—and long enough to let you adjust your footing without any awkward overlap. That makes a big difference on longer rides.
And I love that Segway Ninebot F3 didn’t just slap on a bunch of smart features for show. They actually make the experience better:
- AirLock automatically unlocked the scooter as I walked up, which was slick. No buttons, no app tapping—just step on and go.
- The TFT display is crisp and easy to read, even in sunlight, and it showed everything I wanted to know without being cluttered.
- I haven’t had to use Apple Find My yet (thankfully), but just knowing it’s there is a really nice touch for peace of mind.

Initial Verdict: Very Impressed So Far
I’ll need more time and miles to fully vet the Segway Ninebot F3, but if we’re going by first impressions? It feels like one of the most refined and well-rounded scooters I’ve stepped on lately.
It doesn’t try to be the fastest or flashiest—it just feels like a scooter that gets it. It’s fast enough, comfortable enough, smart in all the right ways, and clearly built for people who ride every day, not just on weekends.
Can’t wait to get more miles under this thing and see how it holds up. But so far? Segway’s definitely onto something here. If you want to compare it to other scooters, check out our database here
