Segway Ninebot MAX G3 – $899 (special pre-order price)
The Segway Ninebot MAX G3 is easily one of the most well-known scooters at its price, and for good reason. It’s extremely well-built, has a nice dual suspension and a 2000W peak rear hub motor, all in a 53-pound package.
I can immediately tell you that the Segway Ninebot MAX G3 is a major upgrade. They doubled the power from 1000 to 2000 Watts of peak output. The speed is up to 28 miles per hour, versus 22 mph on the MAX G2, and they added dual disc brakes.
The tires have been bumped up from 10 to 11 inches, the water resistance has improved, from IPX5 to IPX6, and it’s got a beautiful TFT display now, too. They’ve also added a few unique features we haven’t seen before, and we’re really excited to show you.
For the next few weeks, Segway might be offering one of the craziest deals in the electric scooter space: You can get the Segway MAX G3 for a pre-order price of just $899. After that, it will go up to it’s full retail price of $1399 – a full $500 more – so get it while this deal’s hot.
In our first look video, we unbox the scooter and I give you some quick first riding impressions. This is not our full review, so we won’t be testing speed, acceleration, range, etc. but will get to those very soon. (Let me know in the video comments if there’s anything you want me to focus on specifically.)

Segway Ninebot MAX G3: Special Features
Fast Charging & Dual Charging

The Segway MAX G3 has two chargers. The stock charger is a flash charger. Segway says it gets the battery from zero to 100% full charge in only 3.5 hours.
Not only is this three and a half hours of charging almost half the time compared to the six hours on the Max G2, but the scooter also supports dual charging. If you have both chargers, it’ll knock full charging time from zero to 100% down to around 2.5 hours, which is phenomenal.
Extra Battery

Segway is also offering an external extra battery option. We don’t have one yet, but it’s coming this summer. I actually got to see one at CES 2025, and you just mount it on the stem as a full second battery.
The internal battery is a 597 Watt hours and the optional external battery will be 460 Watt hours, almost an additional 80% range!

Segway Ninebot MAX G3: First Ride Impressions

The throttle response is really nice and gradual, but you can feel the power when you slam down on it. It’s nothing too head twitchy, though. The suspension feels super plush. I really felt like I was floating while riding.
I would say that my only issue, with size 13 feet, is that I wish there was a little bit more deck space. I think the original Ninebot Max had the largest deck. But while it had a ton of space, it didn’t offer many features.
Having 11 inch tires makes the ride even more comfortable, on top of the hydraulic suspension. And it’s got pretty much all the power you need. I hit 25 mph against the wind, and I could really feel this scooter move.
At $899, I think this is a steal right now. It’s one of the best scooters out there and looking like it could be one of the better scooters released this year. And if you can hop on it now to save some money, why not?
