The VMAX VX2 Lite is a new 25 mph commuter scooter that takes the full-suspension platform of the faster VX2 Hub and simplifies it to reach a much lower starting price.
It currently starts at $799 and comes in two versions: a 499Wh model with up to 31 miles of claimed range, and an Extended Range model with an 874Wh battery and a 56-mile maximum claim.

What We Liked

The standout feature is not the 25 mph top speed. It is the combination of strong hill-climbing power, controlled full suspension and a weight of only about 52 pounds.
The 1,400W peak motor held approximately 17 to 18 mph through most of our long quarter-mile hill climb. The chassis also stayed stable at speed without the clicking, rattling or wobbling we sometimes find on less expensive commuter scooters.
Front and rear turn signals are visible during the day, the headlight is bright for this category and the folding latch is fast and straightforward.
What You Need to Know About Range

Our Extended Range scooter traveled 19.3 miles before reaching zero battery.
That test used Beast Mode and Sport Mode with a 200 lb rider, approximately 225 lb including equipment, 95-degree weather and 400 to 500 feet of elevation gain.
It was a maximum-performance torture test, not an efficiency run.
VMAX claims up to 56 miles under ideal low-speed conditions and lists 29.9 miles for the long-range version in its own top-performance urban testing.
Expect range to vary enormously with speed. Heavy riders traveling at 25 mph should plan around roughly 20 miles. Moderate commuting speeds should produce substantially more.
The Main Compromises

The front drum and rear regenerative brakes are extremely low maintenance, but our stopping distance from 15 mph was about 19 feet. That is longer than we typically record with strong mechanical disc or hydraulic brakes.
The handlebars also feel narrower than the 22-inch overall measurement suggests because the outer sections contain turn-signal lighting. Effective grip width is closer to 18.25 inches.
Finally, the basic LED display shows the important information, but its smaller mode and lighting icons are hard to read in bright sunlight.
Should You Buy the VMAX VX2 Lite?
Buy the VX2 Lite when you want:
- A comfortable commuter with real full suspension
- Strong hill performance
- A large battery option
- Front and rear turn signals
- Minimal brake maintenance
- A two-year warranty
- A scooter lighter and cheaper than most performance models
Skip it when you need:
- Speeds above 25 mph
- Aggressive mechanical braking
- Wide handlebars
- A premium color display
- Serious off-road capability
Quick Verdict

The VMAX VX2 Lite feels more like a simplified premium scooter than a dressed-up entry-level model.
It keeps the solid chassis, oil-damped front suspension, rear elastomer suspension and large-battery option that make the VX2 platform appealing. VMAX saves money by limiting it to 25 mph and using simpler brakes and electronics.
The result is a strong choice for commuters who care more about comfort, hill climbing, low maintenance and dependable daily use than outright speed.
