The Segway MAX G3 Plus takes the already impressive MAX G3 and adds a larger 717Wh battery, a 2,200W peak rear motor and dedicated rear turn signals. We measured 28 mph indicated, 21.2 miles on a hard Sport-mode range test with a 200-pound rider, a 37.52-second quarter-mile hill climb, 13 to 14 feet of braking distance and a verified 55.1 pounds. The Segway MAX G3 Plus takes the already impressive MAX G3 and gives it a larger 717Wh battery, a 2,200W peak rear motor, dedicated rear turn signals, and even stronger real-world performance.
Segway claims a 28 mph top speed and up to 56 miles of range. In our demanding test with an approximately 200-pound rider traveling quickly in Sport mode, the G3 Plus reached 28 mph indicated and covered 21.2 miles.
Approximately 18 miles were completed at relatively high speeds. The final three miles were heavily restricted as the battery approached empty.

The MAX G3 Plus is one of the most complete premium commuter scooters we have tested. It is comfortable, stable, technologically advanced, exceptional on hills and powerful through most of its battery charge. It climbed our quarter-mile hill in 37.52 seconds while holding roughly 25 to 27 mph, hit 28 mph indicated, stopped from about 16 mph in 13 to 14 feet, and still reached 25 to 26 mph at 21% battery. At 55.1 pounds it is manageable for an end-to-end commuter but too heavy for frequent staircases or train transfers.
Buy it if: you want premium comfort, real hill-climbing muscle and serious safety tech in a single-motor commuter. Skip it if: you carry your scooter upstairs daily, ride mostly gravel or trails, or need substantially more than 28 mph.

Performance Results
The MAX G3 Plus was particularly impressive on hills. It completed our quarter-mile hill course in 37.52 seconds while maintaining approximately 25 to 27 mph through much of the climb.
Its fastest Boost-mode acceleration results were:

Even around 21% battery, the scooter could still reach approximately 25 to 26 mph, although acceleration became noticeably slower.
Best Features
The hydraulic suspension is plush without feeling uncontrolled. Segway’s stable steering geometry, soft 11-inch tires, and balanced braking make the scooter extremely confidence-inspiring.
It also includes front and rear turn signals, traction control, anti-lock braking assistance, Hill Hold, Apple Find My, proximity unlocking, a built-in alarm, and a bright 2.4-inch TFT display.
Main Drawbacks
The rear kicktail moves separately from part of the deck, which can feel strange under your back foot. Boost mode must be prepared manually and is disabled at low battery.
It is also much better on pavement than gravel. The suspension handles potholes and broken city streets well, but loose surfaces create considerable vibration.
